About Us: History and Milestones
In October of 1995, the JAKA Investments Corporation made its presence felt in the food processing industry when it acquired Barney Food International from Metro Pacific Corporation. The newly-acquired affiliate was later renamed as JAKA Foods Processing Corporation. When Metro Pacific divested its interest in Barney Food, a substantial portion of the business was dedicated to supplying the hotdog requirements of only one major food service company. Realizing the inherent weakness in relying on patronage of one major account alone, JFPC started to expand its customer base among the food service industry, achieving its enviable status as the preferred supplier of processed meat by more than eighty percent of the food service providers in the industry. Further investments were made to modernize and enhance the meat processing capabilities of the Company, allowing it to become one of the dominant players in the industry to date. The technical competencies and manufacturing facilities of JAKA Food provides the company with necessary competitive advantage in the manufacture of customized meat products, allowing the company to provide the processed meat that surpass the stringent requirements set by major fast food chains, hotels, restaurants, country clubs, bars, canteens, caterers and other food service institutions. High quality products, reliable service and reasonable prices are maintained in the continuing effort to build long-term partnerships with the company’s food service clients. Among others, these include Jollibee, Pizza Hut, Greenwich, Don Henrico’s, Domino’s, Sbarro’s, Lots-a-Pizza, Yellow Cab Pizza and the Italliani’s chain of restaurants. JFPC likewise manufactures processed meat products for SM Bonus. Similarly, the company manufactures some of the processed meat products
of other meat manufacturing companies under a toll processing agreement. |
